Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to identify whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is advisable to select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. The options available include a "direct-online starter" if line power is used for control, or a "separate control voltage" when different voltages are utilized. If activation from an external switch is needed, remote start terminals can be added. This starter features a 16A three-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop operation, and a coil rating of 100-250V AC/DC. The overload relay is rated for 13-16A and the starter is housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
