Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply. Confirm whether the motor requires single-phase or three-phase power and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power needed to close the contactor, followed by the overload current range that includes the FLA from the first step. The selection can also depend on incoming power; if line power is used as control power, it is called a "direct-online starter." If control voltage differs from line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, starters can be equipped with remote start terminals, which are assumed to use the same line and control voltage, or configured for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are involved. Key features include a rating of 16A, three-phase operation, direct online start/stop functionality, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated at 13-16A.
