Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, which can be 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter with a current rating that exceeds the FLA of the motor and specify the control power for closing the contactor. Select an overload relay with a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Additionally, options for incoming power include direct-online starters, where line power is also used for control, or separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If an external switch activates the starter, remote start terminals can be added, assuming line and control voltages are the same or require separate arrangements. Key features include a 16A 3-phase direct online starter with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
