Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power before choosing a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should be determined, and the overload should be selected by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations such as direct-online starter, separate control voltage, and remote start terminals designed for activation from an external switch. Features of the motor starter include 16 A 3-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, and an overload rating of 5.7-7.6 A in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
