Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Additional selection criteria include determining the incoming power type; options include a "direct-online starter" if line power also serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added; this arrangement is compatible when line and control voltages match. If different voltages are required, the configuration would be termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The motor starters feature 16A 3-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload relay, all housed in a robust NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
