Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor from the previous step. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power; "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage; or a setup with "remote start terminals" if the starter needs activation from an external switch, assuming the line voltage and control voltage are the same, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are used. The features of the starters include a 16A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and 13-16A overload protection, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
