Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, select the control power for closing the contactor and determine the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. The selection may also involve options such as whether to use direct-on-line starters where line power serves as control power, or employing separate control voltage for different line and control voltages. If activation from an external switch is required, options for remote start terminals can be included. Key features include a capacity of 16A for three-phase direct online operation, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 16-20A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
