Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to identify whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be specified, along with selecting an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power type, which can be either a "direct-online starter" if line power is also the control power, or a "separate control voltage" if different voltages are used. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, with configurations available for separate control voltage along with remote start terminals. Key features of the starters include a capacity of 16A, compatibility with 3-phase systems, a separate coil voltage, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload rating of 13-16A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
