Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor nameplate at the input voltage and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power required to close the contactor must also be determined, followed by selecting the overload with a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include whether the line power is used as control power, categorized as a "direct-online starter," or if a separate control voltage is needed. If activation from an external switch is required, terminals for remote start can be added. Key features include a 16A 1-phase separate coil voltage for start/stop operation, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and overload protection rated at 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
