Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to identify if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power for closing the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. Options for customizing the starter include using line power as the control power, designated as a "direct-online starter," or using a separate control voltage for when the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume line and control voltages are the same. Alternatively, if using different voltages for line and control power, this configuration is labeled as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of the starter include 16A 1-phase remote start terminals with a reset button, a coil voltage of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload capacity of 10-13A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
