Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate at the supplied input voltage and confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) greater than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. For overload selection, choose a current range that includes the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria to consider include incoming power settings, with options for direct-online starters, separate control voltage, or configurations with remote start terminals for external switch activation. This particular model features a 16A rating, operates on 1 phase with separate control voltage, includes a reset button, and has a 24-60V AC/DC coil with a 7.6-10A overload relay.
