Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen by selecting a current range that contains the FLA determined previously. For additional criteria, consider the incoming power; if the line power serves as the control power, it is referred to as a "direct-online starter." For separate control voltage, or if the starter needs activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for remote start. The featured model includes a 16A single-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 4.2-5.7A in compliance with NEMA 4X standards.
