Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate while confirming whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected. Additionally, the overload must be chosen from a current range that contains the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, which can be categorized as "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power or "separate control voltage" if different. For activation from an external switch, the design accommodates "remote start terminals." The features include 16A 1 phase remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload with a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
