Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters that can handle up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, the user should refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage provided, ensuring the correct choice between single-phase or three-phase power. A starter rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA should be chosen. The control power used to close the contactor must be specified, along with the selection of the overload based on a current range containing the motor's FLA. Additional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter if line power is also used for control, or a separate control voltage if they differ. If external activation is needed, remote start terminals can be added to accept control power input. The features of the starters include a 16A 1 phase direct online start/stop capability with a 100-250V AC/DC coil and a 7.6-10A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
