Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage being supplied, ensuring clarity on whether the power to the motor is single-phase or three-phase. A starter should be chosen with a current rating higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must be determined, and the overload should be selected based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Additional selection criteria include the type of incoming power—whether the line power will also serve as control power, classified as "direct-online starter," or if a different control voltage is required, known as "separate control voltage." For starters that need activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input will be added, termed as "remote start terminals." If remote start terminals are needed while using different voltages for line and control power, it will be referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 16A 1 phase separate coil voltage start/stop, a coil voltage of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload rating of 10-13A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
