Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1 phase or 3 phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, which can either be a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also used as control power or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If activation from an external switch is needed, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals." The motor starter features a 26A 3 phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 16-20A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
