Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage on the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. The selection may also depend on additional criteria such as incoming power, where a "direct-on-line starter" uses line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. For activating the starter from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, accommodating scenarios with separate control voltage. The features include 26A 3 phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload with a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
