Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring awareness of whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) exceeding the FLA. Control power options for closing the contactor must be chosen alongside the overload, which should match the selected current range containing the FLA. The starter can be configured based on several criteria: if the line power also serves as control power, it is designated as a "direct-online starter"; if not, it is referred to as "separate control voltage." For external activation, remote start terminals can be added, with considerations for whether line and control voltages differ. Key features include a 26A 3-phase configuration, a direct online reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 20-24A overload relay, all enclosed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
