Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, begin by checking the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to note whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. It’s essential to select a starter rated for higher current than the motor’s FLA. Additionally, choose the control power used to activate the contactor and select the overload by determining a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include considerations for incoming power, such as using line power for control (direct-online starter), differing voltages for line and control (separate control voltage), and the inclusion of terminals for external switch activation (remote start terminals), with variations available for separate control voltage combined with remote start terminals. The key features of the starters include a rating of 26A, 3-phase operation, direct online functionality, a start/stop mechanism, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rating between 10-13A.
