Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to note if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA from the previous step. Additional selection criteria include the type of incoming power; options available include direct-online starter (using line power for control), separate control voltage (different line and control voltages), and remote start terminals for external activation. The key features include a 26A 3-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
