Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate at the input voltage supplied and determine if the power is single-phase or three-phase. The starter must be rated for a current higher than the FLA, and the control power used to close the contactor must be chosen. Additionally, the overload relay should be selected based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power, whether it is a direct-online starter using line power as control power, or if a separate control voltage is needed. If remote activation is desired, terminals for external switch input can be added. Key features of this starter include 26A, three-phase capability, separate coil voltage, start/stop functionality, and a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, along with a 10-13A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
