Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to identify whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. It is important to select a starter rated for amps higher than the FLA. Additionally, determine the control power used to activate the contactor and select the overload based on a current range that appropriately encompasses the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, which can be categorized as "direct-online starter" when using line power for control, "separate control voltage" for different control and line voltages, or including "remote start terminals" for external switch activation. Key features of the motor starter include a 26 A, 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop capability, a coil voltage range of 250-500 V AC/DC, and an overload capacity of 24-29 A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
