Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to identify if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and pick the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. The selection process can be further refined based on optional criteria, including whether to use line power as control power, which designates it as a "direct-online starter," or if a "separate control voltage" is necessary with terminals for remote start, meaning the starter can be activated from an external switch. Key features include a 26A three-phase direct-online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
