Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power to close the contactor must also be determined. The overload should be selected by finding a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Additional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. If activation from an external switch is needed, remote start terminals can be added, which accept control power from the switch. The kit features a 26A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals for start/stop, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, a 20-24A overload relay, and is housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
