Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of supporting motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to account for whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter that has a current rating higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be determined, with overload selection based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: "direct-online starter" if line power is used for control as well, or "separate control voltage" if a different control voltage is required. For activation from an external switch, you may select "remote start terminals" for line and control voltages that are the same, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are involved. Notable features include 26A 3-phase remote start terminals for start/stop operations, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 13-16A overload relay, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
