Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Users should choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The selection process involves determining the control power used to engage the contactor and selecting the overload based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power type: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used for control, or "separate control voltage" if different. For external activation, terminals for remote start can be included, assuming the line and control voltage are the same, or as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" for different voltages. Key features include a 26A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, reset button, 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload relay, all contained within the NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
