Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and pick the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA detected earlier. Optional criteria for selection include: determining whether the line power will also serve as the control power, which is referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, termed "separate control voltage." For cases requiring activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." The starter features a 26A 3-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
