Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. When selecting the proper starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage being supplied and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Then, choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, followed by selecting the control power to operate the contactor, and the overload by selecting a current range that covers the FLA from the first step. Based on additional criteria, options include using the line power as the control power, known as a "direct-online starter," or applying a "separate control voltage" if different. The arrangement may also involve remote start terminals for activation from an external switch, with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same; if different, this is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 26A 3-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil rated for 250-500V AC/DC, along with a 24-29A overload, housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
