Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include incoming power options such as "direct-on-line starter" if line power is used as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. If activation is required from an external switch, terminals for control power input are added, referred to as "remote start terminals." This arrangement assumes the line and control voltages are the same; however, if different voltages are used, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include 26A, 3 phase configuration, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a coil rated at 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload range of 20-24A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
