Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first confirm the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supply voltage, ensuring you understand whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current greater than the FLA. Next, select the control power used to operate the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA. The options available include a direct-online starter if the line power also serves as the control power, or a separate control voltage where the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If the starter is to be activated from an external switch, remote start terminals may be added. The starter features include a rating of 26A for three-phase operation, a reset button, a coil rating of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 20-24A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
