Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply by referring to the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1 phase or 3 phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Additional criteria for selecting your starter include determining the incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power will also serve as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If external activation via a switch is required, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals." The features of the motor starter include a 26A 1 phase separate coil voltage start/stop, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 13-16A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
