Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure, providing durability and protection. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor from its nameplate and confirm whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current higher than the motor's FLA. The control power for actuating the contactor must then be determined, followed by selecting an overload relay that accommodates the motor's FLA. The starters can be further specified based on incoming power and control voltage requirements. Options include a "direct-online starter" for matching line and control voltages, "separate control voltage" for differing voltages, and configurations with remote start terminals.
