Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power must be determined to close the contactor, and the overload should be selected from a current range containing the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, which could be a direct-online starter if line power is used as control power, or separate control voltage if the voltages differ. If remote activation is desired, additional terminals can be provided for external switch control. Key features include a 26A 1 phase separate control voltage for start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and an overload relay rated at 16-20A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
