Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for use with motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor from its nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is powered by 1-phase or 3-phase electricity. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power for closing the contactor, and choose an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA. For additional customization, consider the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates a different control voltage. For starters requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same, unless specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 26A 3-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
