Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. It is crucial to choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA. The options available include a direct-online starter where the line power is used as control power, a separate control voltage starter when the control voltage differs from the line voltage, or a configuration with remote start terminals for activation from an external switch, which can also accommodate a separate control voltage. Key features include a 26A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
