Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60 HP or 80 A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA from step one. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: if line power is used as the control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter"; otherwise, a "separate control voltage" is required, allowing for external control switch activation with "remote start terminals." The specifications of the motor starter include features such as 26 A capacity, 3-phase operation, separate control voltage, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29 A overload relay, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
