Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA from your earlier assessment. The options to narrow down the starters include the incoming power configuration, which can be a direct-online starter if the line power will be used as the control power, or separate control voltage if they differ. Remote start terminals can be included if the starter needs to be activated from an external switch. Key features include a 26A 3-phase direct online starter with a reset button only, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 13-16A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
