Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA determined earlier. Additional optional criteria for selection include incoming power, which can be either a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used for control, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are used. For activation through an external switch, the starter may have "remote start terminals." Key features include 26A 3-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
