Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be chosen based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Additionally, the incoming power configuration should be selected: a "direct-online starter" if the line power also serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be incorporated to accept control power inputs. The product features include a 38A 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop, with a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and 16-20A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
