Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor on its nameplate at the supplied input voltage, while confirming whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current higher than the motor's FLA. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be determined, followed by selecting the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, where a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while a "separate control voltage" configuration involves different voltages for line and control power. For starters that need to be activated from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added; if different voltages are used, this configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include a 38A three-phase direct online start/stop capability with a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload relay, all housed in durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate.
