Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The selection process involves choosing the control power used to close the contactor and selecting the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Additional criteria for selection includes incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" for same line and control voltages or "separate control voltage" for different voltages. Remote start terminals can be incorporated for external switch activation, which can be configured as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The featured model includes options such as 26A 1-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a 24-60V AC/DC coil with a 24-26A overload protection within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
