Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capacities up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of your motor. Additionally, select the control power needed to activate the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. Further options include specifying incoming power configurations such as a "direct-online starter," where line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from line voltage. If activation via an external switch is desired, "remote start terminals" can be added for control power from that switch, and if different voltages are being used for line and control power, this can be specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include a 26A 1-phase design, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, 16-20A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
