Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then choose an overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Additional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, which can be a direct-on-line starter if line power is used as the control power, or a separate control voltage if they differ. If activation from an external switch is needed, terminals can be added for control power input, categorized as remote start terminals, or separate control voltage with remote start terminals if different voltages are used.
