Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for specific requirements, one should verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with an overload that includes the FLA range of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the voltages differ. For activation from an external switch, one can opt for "remote start terminals," which are applicable when the line and control voltages are the same or if different voltages are used with "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features of the kit include a 38A 3-phase separate control voltage reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 20-24A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
