Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must be determined, followed by the selection of an overload with a current range that accommodates the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, with options for direct-online starters if line power is used for control, or separate control voltage if they differ. For starters requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The specific model features include 38A rating, 3-phase operation, separate coil voltage with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
