Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, you should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you plan to supply, ensuring to confirm whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) exceeding the FLA. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the optional criteria for selecting your starter include whether the incoming power will also serve as the control power, which classifies it as a "direct-online starter" or if it operates on "separate control voltage." If activation from an external switch is required, starters can be equipped with terminals for remote start, assuming the line and control voltages are the same; alternatively, if different voltages are used, it can be specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include 38A, 3-phase capability, remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rating of 29-35A.
