Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether the power source is single-phase or three-phase. Select a starter rated for current (amps) exceeding the FLA, choose the control power for closing the contactor, and select an overload within the FLA range. Additional options for selection include whether the incoming power will serve as control power (direct-online starter) or whether separate control voltage is required. For external activation, remote start terminals can be incorporated, with configurations available for different line and control voltages. The key features of these starters include a 38 A 3-phase separate control voltage with a reset button, a coil rated between 24-60 V AC/DC, and overload protection rated for 35-40 A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
