Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters integrate a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To determine the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the required input voltage, confirming whether the motor operates on 1 phase or 3 phase power. Select a starter rated for current higher than the motor's FLA. Choose the control power for closing the contactor, and then pick the overload to ensure its current range includes the motor's FLA. Additional criteria include the incoming power type: a "direct-online starter" if line power will also serve as control power, or a "separate control voltage" when line voltage differs from control voltage. For activation from an external switch, options include remote start terminals, which assume identical line and control voltages, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are utilized. Key features include 38A 3 phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload relay housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
