Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Incoming power can be used as the control power for a direct-online starter or differentiated as a separate control voltage if not the same. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, assuming line voltage and control voltage are the same, or configured for separate control voltage with remote start terminals. Key features include 38 A, three-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 35-40 A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
