Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, then select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by selecting the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The optional criteria for selection includes incoming power configurations, where line power can be used as control power, known as a "direct-online starter," or if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is referred to as "separate control voltage." For starters requiring activation from an external switch, terminals can be added to accept the control power input, termed "remote start terminals." The features of the starter include a 38A capacity for 1-phase direct online applications with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload capacity, all packaged within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
